Privacy & data handling
IPDNS uses connection information to return your public IP and limit requests. DNS comparisons send the name you enter to two public resolvers.
Connection information
Your source IP and HTTP request information reach Cloudflare and our OVHcloud-hosted server. The app uses the trusted connection address for the public-IP response and temporary per-IP limits. Personalized pages and API responses use no-store cache headers.
DNS names and results
Your hostname and record type are sent in a query URL to our server, then to Cloudflare and Google public DNS. The resolvers receive our server’s connection address; we do not supply your visitor IP as a client hint. Google is asked not to forward an EDNS client subnet. Do not enter confidential internal names or secrets. Query URLs can appear in browser history and infrastructure diagnostics.
Successful answers can be reused from a bounded memory cache for up to 30 seconds, limited by the lowest answer TTL. Cached results keep their original fetch time and observed TTL. Rate-limit entries become eligible for removal after two minutes of inactivity and are cleaned up periodically. These in-memory records are not a permanent lookup history.
Cookies, promotions and consent
The application does not set cookies or use local storage, third-party analytics, advertising pixels or an advertising profile. The two house-ad images shown on the homepage, Field Guide and CLI / API pages are hosted on IPDNS. We do not add impression or click counters. AdSense and third-party ad-network scripts are not enabled.
Clicking a promotion opens the destination site, which receives your connection information and applies its own privacy practices. The Amazon product link has no affiliate tag. Links are not required to use the tool. Cloudflare and other infrastructure services may process traffic or use security mechanisms under their own policies; this is not a promise of zero infrastructure cookies or logs.
Copies, downloads and browser agents
Copy and download controls act only when you use them. Saved files remain on your device; review them before sharing. If you ask a connected browser agent to use IPDNS, requested results also go to that service under its own policies.
Support and operational records
If you email support@ipdns.info, your address and message are processed to handle your request, including by the email services involved. Send only information needed for the issue. Application access logging is disabled, but hosting, security and operational diagnostics may contain connection or request information.
Questions and future changes
Send privacy questions or requests about information you have provided to support@ipdns.info. Paid advertising, analytics or other tracking would require an updated privacy and consent review before activation. The tool currently has no advertising-consent gate.
