Public DNS answers, with context

IPDNS is a free, independently operated utility for comparing public DNS answers from Cloudflare and Google.

What the tool does

Submit a public hostname and record type to see two resolver responses side by side. Records, response status, observed TTLs and DNSSEC signals help you investigate differences. Our field guide explains how to read them, and the CLI / API guide documents the public-IP and DNS endpoints.

Two observations, not a worldwide verdict

Queries originate from our server, not your device’s configured resolver. Results may reflect caching or regional routing. We do not invent a propagation percentage, independently audit DNSSEC signatures or change your DNS records. A DNS answer alone does not prove that a website or mail service is working.

Free to use, without an ad click

No account or advertising click is needed. The homepage, Field Guide and CLI / API pages include clearly labeled house promotions for SnapSub and The Adventures of Penny. They are separate from the comparison results. AdSense, third-party advertising networks and affiliate tracking are not active.
